Do you have a dream?

Recently I have been asking myself this question.

What is my dream?

I remember when I was still in Japan, I was told to announce my dream to the whole class every once a year.

The first time I said I wanted to be a soccer player. Because it looked really cool.

The second year onwards I don't really remember.

Dream may not be what you want to be in the future.

It may simply be what you want to do.

What you want to achieve in life.

So, I tried to list down 100 things that I want to do if I had the time and money.

And I could only write 22.

Is that too little?

Maybe.

I'm not really an ambitious person, so I couldn't think of anymore.

I was even surprised that I could think of 22. It was too many to me.

But the problem is, why is that when I have so many things I want to do, I haven't been doing them?

Is it because I'm lazy?

Is it because I don't have time?

I'm not a person who plays a lot of games.

In fact I stopped playing computer games after NS.

So why is it that I haven't achieved anything that I want to achieve?

Of course laziness and procrastination plays a part too.

But I think, the most important thing is, I simply don't BELIEVE that I can achieve these stuffs.

Yes, the POWER to BELIEVE is important.

I must BELIEVE in myself.

I must BELIEVE that I can achieve those things.

If I don't BELIEVE in myself, nobody will.

BELIEVING yourself, is the first step to achieving all your dreams.

That is what I BELIEVE.

Doesn't mean all those problems like laziness, procrastination, and time management will go away if you BELIEVE.

But if you don't BELIEVE, you'll never be able to solve all those problems.

If you don't BELIEVE, all the negative thoughts will come in and you'll never get your stuff done.

Therefore, I think I want to start by BELIEVING myself.

22 dreams...it is really a lot! Isn't it more important to have a one or two big dreams and smaller goals, step by step, which make you closer to reach the big dream?
I think that you already achieve a lot in your life. You know 4 languages, can play well piano, you are very strong go player and also have hard studying at univeristy, I don't know anoyone so talented like you. Good that you think that still it is not enough, because it means that you are still able to achieve more. Of course you must believe in yourself without believing in yourself you cannot get anything...But other people who believes in you...it is also very important thing... I already understood how important it is in my life, without teachers who believed in me I wasn't achieved so much in school and without my supervisor who still believe in me probably I would give up my dreams about become scientist.
Computer and internet can be a such a big trap in reaching goals...how to learn use it wisely..?I am also looking for the answer..

Haha thanks, Anonymous. I don't really consider myself talented actually. I will talk about it in a later post. But yes, I think you must believe in yourself first before others can believe in you. If you yourself don't even believe in yourself, who will believe in you? I agree that distractions are a very big fuss though... But I believe with determination, they can be conquered! :D

Sorry for anonymous post again, but my name won't tell you a lot, we've never met.
I just noticed your answer, you are right without beliving in myself is really bad, I know, but I didn't give up completely, because of two people who still really believe in me :) I will face the challenge again, now with more faith!
And I wish you good luck in making true your dreams!
