The End of Portgas D. Ace

I felt the need to make a blog post about this... I was very shocked at this week's ONE PIECE chapter...

I'm sorry if this becomes a spoiler...

Ace is DEAD!!

OMG!!!

This was totally unexpected... I thought he would be saved successfully... After all, so many chapters were spent on this arc, from Amazon Lily to Impel Down to Marineford... So many people came to save him, including Whitebeard and his pirates and most importantly, his brother Luffy. They managed to stop his execution, and even freed him from the Marines. Luffy was about to bring him out of the place, but then at the last moment, he died white protecting Luffy...

OMG...

Seriously after reading so many chapters of ONE PIECE this is the biggest twist I have ever seen... There's nothing like this before... After all Oda never kills characters, and this is the first time... And it's such an important character...

From the flow of the manga Oda must have planned this all along...

I'm not saying that Oda did something wrong... It's just... very shocking...

What will Luffy do after that? Well no matter what happens, one thing can be certain... He will never be the same anymore...

Looking at Luffy's expression on the last page, I just don't know what to say... He... doesn't seem to be himself anymore...

This might just be a huge turning point for ONE PIECE.


One more thing.

The title of this chapter is :"Portgas D. Ace Dies".

In actual fact, Gol D. Ace is the name his mother gave him.

So some people speculate that he didn't die.

Well, what I think is that Gol D. Ace indeed lives on, but in their hearts... and our hearts... forever...
